Freshman Composition

Have something to say,
and say it well.
Welcome to class…
Freshman Composition focuses primarily on reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking.

Students are introduced to various genres of literature, participating in a wide range of writing projects and presentations.

Grammar and mechanics are integrated into our program with goals of fluency and style in mind.

A general outline for our year is as follows:
Q1      Essays, Theses, and Creative Writing

Q2      Short Stories and Literary Analysis

     Q3      Poetry and Drama Writing

Q4      The Novel, Epic, and Research Writing
Above all, it is my desire for my students
to learn to think critically not only about literature and writing, but about themselves, society, and the Christian walk.  These are the tools for eternal success.
