Excitement was in the air as students added their luggage to the pile in the gym for the annual Connect Retreat, on September 18-20, held at Rosario Marine Station. The event, a favorite of PSAA students and a time honored tradition since the inception of the school, provides students with a chance to start the year on the right note.
The name, Connect, says it all. The three day event is full of eating, playing games, hiking, worshiping, praying, and getting to know each other better.
Although this year was particularly chilly, it didn’t keep the students from participating in the annual Polar Plunge, where students dive into the frigid waters of the Puget Sound and the Straight of Juan de Fuca.
One of the highlights of this year’s retreat was a spontaneous worship that was started by a handful of students signing praise songs in the corner of the great hall. This led to the entire student body joining. Students continued to add to the worship experience by volunteering heartfelt prayers. This moving student led worship experience continued for over three hours.
This event reminded all present of one of the most rewarding things about PSAA, that it is often students leading other students closer to Christ.
