Joining us as the new Mathematics instructor is Ms. Tiffany Nelson. A Miami native, Ms. Nelson is a graduate of Walla Walla University with a passion for education and supporting students. Ms. Nelson teaches Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, supervises Calculus through Andrews University, and assists with the Associated Student Body (ASB). Added to this resume is her ability to solve a multi-step radical function in under one minute—just as her Precalculus students.
Interacting with the PSAA community is a highlight for Ms. Nelson, “My favorite aspect of PSAA is the community between the students and staff. I feel like I've worked here for years. I've felt very included and supported as a new teacher.”
With a passion for new experiences, off campus Ms. Nelson enjoys travel and exploring, whether trips to new places or trying new places to eat. She appreciates the outdoors and has a goal to visit the 59 U.S. National Parks by the age of 60. So far she has made it to 13 of them!
When asked about her tips for success and making the most of high school, she recommends to, “Live in the moment and get involved. College is important, but don't get so caught up in going to the best college and completely miss out on the opportunities to have the best 4 years. Get involved and be a positive influence with your time in high school.” Leading by example, Ms. Nelson has jumped into this year with enthusiasm and looks forward to more adventures to come.
