For the PSAA Volleyball team, this year marks a monumental first that is the result of dedication on many levels—qualifying and going to the Seatac League State Championship! The process began last year with a suit to be able to compete for State and Sabbath Accommodation for all Sabbath observing schools. PSAA’s Varsity team went on to quality for the district tournament with a league record of 9-3, moving on to state after finishing 3rd in that round. The Sharks found themselves in the top 16 of 64 schools in Washington (1B/2B). History was solidified with PSAA’s first ever state tournament win.
Senior and team member Jessie Lee adds, “I felt happy tears and so much emotion from the encouragement and accomplishment that came from our team’s effort. I felt close to my team before, but now we are 100% family.”
Two mottos inspired the team throughout the season: “I love my team” & “Protect the brand.” Considering the team’s amazing accomplishment, PSAA is proud to say that both of these mottos were fulfilled and shared this year.
